Read and Respond: Two years of college wasted

This article basically describes how college students, in their first two years, tend to make very little improvements on their learning ability. I tend to agree with this article. I feel like the classes that are required for freshmen are very similar to high school classes. As a high school student I did not care about my studies and slacked off A LOT! I graduated with a 2.5 GPA. When I came to Northwest taking 12 credits a semester I made a 3.07 in my first semester. I'm not sure if that's what the story was trying to get at but I feel like if coming from high school with a bad GPA and overnight improving that by a considerable amount might indicate that the classes are too simple for 19 and 20 year olds.
