Missives and Musings: High School or College?
Are we in college? Or are we in a more expensive version of high school? Sometimes I feel like we really are still in high school. When I walk into a classroom a few minutes late and get scolded I feel like I'm in high school. When a teacher takes my phone away I feel like I'm in high school. Or when I miss three or more classes and get dropped a full letter grade I feel like I'm in high school. Now don't get me wrong I get that we are here for a reason and we pay a good deal to be here so shouldn't WE choose how to use this experience? I feel like paying $500 for a class gives me the right to sleep in every once and a while and miss that dreaded 8 a.m. class without being "punished". Now college is much easier than high school. I'm not forced to be in the same building all day, which is nice, but at times I still feel like a confused freshman on my first day of school.

I don't know what this is, Lauren--a "Missive and Musing"? (I'll refrain from responding to your complaints . . .)
