Review and Recommend: Going The Distance
Guy meets girl. Guy and girl fall in love. Girl moves half way across the country and attempt a long distance relationship. Sounds like a carbon copy of the same romantic comedy that we've all seen a million times right? Wrong. Going the Distance break the romantic comedy barriers. Justin Long and Drew Barrymore come together in this film to play an on screen couple (this was filmed while the two were an off screen couple as well, but I promise you this is not another Gigli fiasco.) The film is filled with laughs, gut busting laughs actually, but it does allow you to get to know the characters and as my roommate said "I wish I could marry Justin Long's character, not Justin Long necessarily, but his character for sure." Charlie Day, Christina Appleagate and Jim Gaffigan make up the rest of the spectacular cast. Every character is loveable. But like every other romantic comedy this one is not completely predictable. I first saw this in the theater and then when it came out on DVD I watched it with a few friends. They kept guessing the typical things like "Oh he's going to cheat on her or vise versa." but each time they guessed something it was wrong. Nobody wants to watch a movie that they could've written. Go grab a bag of popcorn and ENJOY! If you don't like it I will personally give you a refund :)
